Lake Wazee - Christmas Dive
Dec. 26, 2006

Once again we (Lubo, Jitka, and Patrik) were diving in our favorite training quarry Lake Wazee by Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Outside temperature was 28°F (-2°C) and water temperature was 38°F (3°C). It was not too bad for late December, nevertheless, we ended up doing just one dive down to 150ft (46m). The visibility was decent about 25ft (8m) though it should have been much better that time of the year.

At first we thought we would be the only "crazy" divers out there that day but we found two more divers doing their second dive already by the time we arrived. They thought the same about themselves. Jitka happened to know the divers so we chatted about the dives that day.

We had nice dive down to the gargoyle, dwarf, bowling ball, golem and other things that people on purpose put on the ledge at 150ft (46m) for other divers to see. After 30 minute dive while ascending back up we had a small decompression obligation that went away as soon as we spent a few minutes in a shallower water. We visited the fish cribs on the way back and since it was quite cold we ended the dive. Lubo practiced shooting the lift back at the end but Jitka and Patrik were already looking forward toward the hot meal and tea in the closest restaurant and left the water promptly. After we packed up we stopped by Perkins to celebrate Patrik's forgotten b-day and headed home.

Here are a few pictures from this trip
