Sadie ThompsonA more modern wreck is that of the wooden barge Sadie Thompson built in 1890's, which broke free during a storm and sank during the construction of the Harbor of Refuge in the 1950's. It is located one mile south of the Point. The Sadie Thompson lies on its side on the bottom with a derrick attached. It is located about six miles south of Whitefish Pt.
|Type of Vessel:||Wooden Barge|
|Depth to Deck:||90 ft (27m)|
|Depth to Bottom:||115 ft (35m)|
|How it Sunk:||It is an interesting dive for a barge. It is located close to shore and often in the lee of the point. It makes good dive when the weather is from the west or northwest and too bad to dive elsewhere. The depth is 115' max. It lies about 3/4 overturned, but there is a lot of interesting machinery to see. |
