Caisson
Caisson is a non-shipwreck dive from 100ft to 150ft. This can be a recreational dive within 130ft. The history of this caisson is unknown. In geotechnical engineering, a caisson is a watertight retaining structure used, for example, to work on the foundations of a bridge pier, for the construction of a concrete dam, or for the repair of ships. Caissons are constructed in such a way that the water can be pumped out, keeping the work environment dry. See photos.
Dredge #6 (1912)
This 110-foot floating dredge rests upside down in about 70 feet of water. Divers can explore the massive crane, boiler, and dredging machinery. It’s an interesting dive for recreational divers, though caution is required when swimming underneath due to the inverted orientation, which can be disorienting, especially inside the wreck.
