Fireboat #23 (1896)
Fireboat 23 rests upright in about 72 feet of water, offering a unique look at one of Milwaukee’s early working vessels. Large open sections along both sides of the hull reveal the interior, while the boiler sits mid-wreck and the collapsed stern exposes the lower hull and keel. The propeller, driveshaft, and rudder remain visible, creating an engaging and easy-to-follow dive with plenty of structure to explore.
- Dive Type: Recreational (no decompression)
- Typical Depth: 72ft (22m)
- Required Certification: Open Water (or equivalent)
Excellent for beginner divers. Often paired with Prins Willem V, Dredge #6, Gillen Tug, or other nearby shipwrecks.
