Fighting against 40-footers, Frank Mays recalls surviving the sinking of the Carl D. Bradley

This is a very interesting interview with Frank Mays, now 85 years young, telling the story of his survival this day in 1958 as the big freighter Carl D. Bradley slipped underneath the waves during a November gale storm.  Listen to the interview here…

Shipwreck Explorers and Molly V boat had a chance in August of 2009 to take four daughters, whose farther perished in this disaster, over the wreck site.  They shared memories and though a very tragic event, that day was filled with sunshine and the lake was calm.  The flower crown was gently floating over the Carl D. Bradley.  We also had an opportunity to visit with Frank Mays and listen to his story in person.  He is truly a remarkable man and a wonderful story teller.
