Her hull was cut by floating ice and she sank. She was reportedly in poor condition at the time of her last trip and had been given insurance for only that single voyage. Tug CRUSADER tried to save her, but was only able to take her crew off before she went down.

Shipwreck Description
This shipwreck sits upright and is largely intact. Fascinating visuals include the boiler, steam engine, windlass and other machinery. The stern was destroyed when she was dynamited for the removal of her rudder. There are numerous opportunities for wreck penetration, particularly at the bow, for those trained and experienced in that type of diving.
